I'm typically not a fan of plastic toys, but I love that this flatbed truck with the race car on the bed is made from recycled milk jugs. Even more important is that it is free of BPA, PVC, phthalates, and external coatings. This toy is especially durable and is fun for really little ones (1 year old) and much older children. A bonus is that it arrives in recycled packaging materials (printed with soy ink!). This is the first plastic toy that I've felt good about giving to my children and buying as a gift for their friends.

This toy is totally awesome. First its 2 toys in one. You get a flatbed truck and a super cool sports car. They're both made of a heavy duty plastic that is green for the planet. And Added bonus is that you can throw this WHOLE toy into the dishwasher, thats right with most kids you have the issue of how to disinfect a toy. How can you get the WHOLE toy clean. Well this manufacture has came up with a solution you can send the whole toy into the dishwasher!.

This Green Toys Flatbed Truck and Race Car is very well made and safe. However, my 2 year old grandson hasn't played much with it. Perhaps as time goes on, he might but he just didn't seem interested in it. I don't think it had to have bells and whistles to grab his interest but it is so plain that there wasn't much to attract him and get his imagination going. Good and sturdy for children 2 and up.

We really like the green toys line of trucks and vehicles. This one comes with both the car and the flatbed truck. My son likes to load the car onto the truck and dump it off. When he pushes it around in the house the car stays on just fine, but when we take it out the rumble from the pavement causes the car to fall off every time sending him into 2 year old hysterics. We like it anyway. This toy is helping our son learn colors, "load the red car onto the blue truck". The plastic is really very thick making this rock solid and very durable. Mostly he just enjoys pushing it around and making noises while doing so. Great toy!

I'm starting to get a little embarrassed to review so many Green Toys products but they've really become a favorite with my toddler and I. Colorful, lightweight but durable, and made from recycled milk jugs in the USA, they keep proving to me that they're worth spending a little more for. Our 'parking lot' now contains the Green Toys Dump Truck, Pink, Green Toys School Bus, and this Flatbed Truck and Race Car set. Of the three this one has become a bit of a favorite because of the race car. My daughter just turned 3 and has the roughness one can expect around this age but we have yet to have any broken parts of pieces and this was the one I figured might have issues since it has more movable parts. I'm actually thinking about picking up the other race cars that can be bought individually so she has more to use with the flatbed--they come in blue and pink too! Hauling dirt and pebbles or just other small toys, the flatbed is tough and easy to clean. I love that these are lightweight--without being flimsy--enough that the little ones can pick them up and push them around with ease without parents having to worry about bruised feet and pinched fingers, unlike the metal monstrosities I grew up with. I continue to recommend Green Toys, but specifically their vehicle toys for parents (and grandparents and aunts and uncles and anyone) of toddlers who want a great toy that they can also feel good about in regards to environmental efficiency and creating American jobs.

We've become a fan of Green Toys in my house not only because of their sustainability factor, but also because of their ruggedness and playability. With a 3-year old and a 20 month old, our toys go through hell, but this truck has withstood being sat on, stepped on, kicked, spilled on, etc. The car and flatbed work extremely well together and they work well as an outside or an inside toy. Both girls love playing with them and combine them with their other toys. The part that I like the most is the absence of any metal pieces or anything that can cause any serious injury. I also enjoy the fact that the whole thing can be dropped in our recycling bin if we ever need to dispose of it.

This is a nice sturdy toy. The best part is that it is earth-friendly made from 100% recycled plastic! They are also free of chemicals such as bpa, pvc, or phlathalates. Even says safe to use with food and dishwasher safe. I don't have a dishwasher but that would be great to clean it! If you are in the market for a truck, why not buy one that is environmentally safe rather than a different option? It is also made in the USA.

This is now our fourth Green Toy truck that we have for our son and it is just as great as the other ones we own. I love these trucks because they are lightweight plastic - easy for our little guy to pick up and carry around. It's made of smooth plastic - there are no sharp edges that might cut him or damage furniture when it get dropped! They roll around great on both carpet and hardwoods and we have been more than pleased with all the cars/trucks in this line of toys! These would make great gifts for a first birthday for a boy, too. Cannot recommend these highly enough.

No flashing lights, no bells and whistles, just a super durable toy, great for any child. Boy or girl!! My son loves putting things in the dump truck bed and pushing the race car off his little table. I love that it doesn't make noise (other than crashing around with the child) and the fact that it's made of recycled material and in the U.S. just puts it over the top. I'm buying a ton of these for the holidays!

I am totally impressed with this toy. It is extremely sturdy and has held up to a lot of abuse from 2 little boys. The boys are fascinated by it, despite the fact that there are no gee-whiz electronics, noise-makers, etc. The fact that it is green is a bonus, but not the primary reason I would recommend it. Buy it because this toy will hold up over time!

What a great little truck set! Any child, boy or girl, would love it. This toy reminds me of the simple toys of my childhood. It's sturdy, well made and colorful. It's not over run with bells and whistles and electronic devices, which can just be distracting. This toys leaves the imagination up to the child which is how it should be!! I highly recommend this toy!!

My 7 month old love the race car and truck set. Each of the two vehicles is all one piece - no small pieces that present choking hazards. The wheels on both roll easily, as does the bed of the truck; however it closes gently - safe for small fingers. The colors are nice and bright and the two go together well; there are grooves on the flat bed to help the race car stay on when you want it to be "towed." These are also very sturdy. My son's in the pounding stage and both these have survived extremely well with no damage despite that. I love that the Green Toys products are environmentally friendly as made from 100% recycled materials (milk bottles) and made in the USA. I was initially dubious about it, but my baby loves this toy. He likes to slide it back and forth - it rolls well on it's wheels, suck on it, or pound it. It's a nice, sturdy toy as a baby and will offer him many opportunities to expand his imagination as he grows.

My seven-year-old son enjoys this set and likes having it out at the same time as his Green Toys bus. He loves to make up racing stories, so the car is all kinds of fun for him. These aren't necessarily his favorite toys ever, but then, he's probably on the older end of the age scale for the toys' target audience. Part of the appeal to me, though, is that I can see the vehicles having long lives and being passed down through generations. To my mind, that makes them more eco-friendly than cheaply made toys that break easily. I think our main complaint about this set is with the flatbed truck. When the bed is lifted to let the car on or off, it tends to flip up fairly abruptly, which frequently results in the car getting flipped over. A more gradual incline and motion would be helpful for a smoother transportation experience.

Remember the good old days when you could hand a kid a toy car and all you heard was an occasional "veroom, veroom'? They're baaaack. No batteries, no annoying screeching sound effects. Just a simple , fun toy which allows a kid to use his imagination. All recycled and recyclable materials . Seems very well-made and durable. Big sister asked if she could play with it, too, so not just for little boys. I can't say that it has a great educational value. Just fun , good for developing manual dexterity.

The flatbed truck and race cars are bigger than I was expecting, but should be good for my 14 month old twin grandsons to hold. They like making the flatbed dump the race car off. It is fun for their 5 year old brother as well. I like knowing that these toys are made from recycled milk jugs. The color isn't as bright as the plastic used to make Fisher Price or Playschool toys, but knowing they are made from recycled material makes up for that. The packaging is also recycled and is very easy to open.

I think it is great that they have these recycled/green toys. That said, if there isn't much replay value, there is no reason to buy the toy. I, like the other reviewer, had a problem with the wheels. They did not turn very well, making the toy frustrating and short lived. It is very cute, and would be great in the sand box considering it doesn't go on the carpet or hard wood. Even with it retired to the sand box, my kids choose to play with different, smaller toys.

It is nice to find a well-made, sturdy toy that will safely challenge little hands. Wheels that turn and a few movable parts are enough to fascinate most toddlers, and this set is safe for even the youngest. Including two vehicles allows a parent or sibling to participate in the fun. I am also impressed with the "green" nature of this red & blue toy set!

My grandson loves this toy and I love it because it is green, but sometimes the wheels stick where it does not roll very well. It doesn't matter if it is in the house or outside, they stick every once in a while. My grandson will be whipping around the house with his truck and then you hear a dragging sound and then he stops, picks up the truck and shakes it and then scurries around again. At first I thought something was stuck in the wheels but there wasn't anything. But other than that, he really enjoys the truck. It seems to be very durable as my grandson is very rough on toys and so far it has held up well. I noticed that there are other green toys and I plan buying more for Christmas.

My kids have loved every toy I have given them from this company. The plastic is light, smooth, and nice to touch, but also as tough as can be. The colors are bright and nice, and we've never had a car so much as lose a wheel or bend a fender. The vehicles are nice and large, to combine with other toys in play. And obviously it's also environmentally a better choice than average. Recommended.

Like our other Green Toys collection (which has been expanding rapidly), this little truck and race car are extremely sturdy and well-made. However, for reasons I can't quite figure out, they just don't appeal to my kids as much as the fire truck, the dump truck and the schoolbus. (The dump truck is their hands-down favorite.) I thought they would really enjoy this set, but for some reason, it just hasn't captivated them the way the other Green Toys vehicles have.

The vivid primary colors, smooth edges, durable design and general appearance are all winners. The big, all terrain wheels roll easily over carpet, and really pick up speed on the hardwoods! The fact that this is a "Green Toy" is an added incentive to buy more of these for the upcoming holidays. I was pleased to read that the toy is made of 100% recycled curbside-collected plastic without BPA, PVC, or phthalates. Further it is dishwasher safe! I love the idea that a toy can be sanitized, so as not to infect the other kids with a new cold. And, it's made in the U.S.A. There is not one negative thing that I can say about this product.

This Green Toys "Flatbed Truck and Race Car" kills two birds with one stone...twice! Firstly, this is two toys in one. The suitably macho big truck holds on its flat bed a retro sportscar, reminiscent in my eyes of the original Corvette. The vehicles themselves roll on big, tough wheels and seem to be able to take a sufficient amount of abuse. To test this I gave it to my nephews of appropriate age and it passed the "abuse test" (otherwise know as "play") they always approach with gusto. They liked it and at the point of this review the truck and car are both intact - this is no mean feat, you don't know my nephews! Secondly, this toy is made of recyclable materials for those who are environmentally conscious. It is also...get ready for this and be prepared for a shock...Made In The USA! These two birds gladly killed with one stone make this toy even more attractive for the purchaser! Does the toy have any flaws? Yes, the toys themselves don't seem to have the same shinyness as other plastic toys. There are minor variations in texture of the plastic due to the use of recycled materials. As an adult, I see these things. Would a child? Heck no! My nephews didn't notice and wouldn't care! This is a good product that will make children happy with the outstanding playability of the two-in-one set and will make the purchaser of this product happy with the enviro-friendly and "made in USA" aspects. I recommend this with five stars!

My three-year-old son is a huge fan of all things transportation-related. He spends hours each day playing with his cars and trucks, so I was sure this one would be a winner, and I was right. We already own a Green Toys school bus, and a blue race car that seemed very similar to the red one on the truck's bed. As soon as I pulled it out of the Amazon box, my son was nearly beside himself with excitement. Getting the toy out of its packaging was an entirely painless exercise that took, at most, thirty seconds. Just the fact that I don't have to cut a bunch of annoying plastic toys may be enough to win me over, but these toys are not only nicely packaged (in recycled materials), they are also brightly colored, well built, and made of recycled materials in the U.S. I'm pretty strict about which toys I buy for my kids, and this brand passes my tests with flying colors. When it was out of the package, I discovered that the red race car is the exact same size as the blue race car my son already had. My son was delighted that this meant he could put either the red or the blue car onto the back of the truck. It's a bit hard to tell from the picture, but the race car is a very nice size, much larger than a Matchbox car. This means, of course, that the flatbed is even larger than the race car, a good, big satisfying size that's suitable for pushing around the floor throughout the house. The flatbed on the truck has grooves into which you can fit the race car, a nice detail that keeps the race car in place. The flatbed also tilts, so the car can be rolled off of it. Lastly, I like that this toy is entirely devoid of flashing lights or annoying sounds. It encourages imaginative play, which is essential to a young child's development. One of the things I really like about these toys is their construction. Though they're lightweight, they are not flimsy by any means. The plastic is very sturdy and will hold up to lots of bashing into walls and general abuse suffered at small hands. The flatbed has large wheels that I think would be quite suited to rolling around a sandbox, though my son plays with his solely in the house. He's had the blue car for more than a year and it still looks as good as the day we bought it. I can't stress enough how impressed I am by Green Toys. This is definitely a company that I can get behind.

This is a fun little set for my son to play with. It is easy for little hands to manipulate. However, there are lots of little crevices to get icky and it isn't very easy to clean. Unfortunately this will be getting donated or given away soon once it gets filled with gunk.

The Green Toys American made Flatbed Truck and Race Car has been quite the hit with my nearly two year old son and my 4 year old daughter. This toy has provided for hours or imaginative play with lots of rough and tumble play indoors and out. The colors of the car and truck are very eye catching and rich. And the ramp attached to the back of truck has been much fun for my son. He's been putting all sorts of things on the back other than the red sports car to push around and then drop off. The Flatbed Truck is built to last and I can't imagine it wearing out anytime soon. I think it's great that you are getting two cars for the price of one! excellent toy for the preschooler, and great for the adult in you as well. Kids take to this immediately and act out all sorts of creative role playing scenarios. will stand up to the hard and constant use it will receive. great gift for any kid, generously sized.

This truck set is for a grandchild but my first reaction when seeing it today, was "Wow, we never had this neat a toy truck when I was a kid". And the racing car is bright and durable and attractive also...The recycled aspect is nice, but I really think this toy's strong suit is the design, color, looks, and size of the two vehicles. Their design and "build" should allow most children (not just boys) to enjoy these toys, and should allow their imaginations to soar. This company (Green Toys) has certainly found a nice niche to fill, in the toy world.

This toy is quite fun. You get 2 vehicles and the truck is larger than I expected. The 2 vehicles make it easier to play with my son. My only concern is the folding flat bed, and I'm always worried that it can pinch his fingers; though it never did for the last 8 months that he's been playing with it (1 yr to now 20 months old).
